The parish church of All Saints has been at the heart of community life in Northallerton
for over 800 years
We want All Saints to continue to be at the centre of the life of our community in the 21st century so the Evolving All Saints project is intended to upgrade and develop our facilities to ensure that they meet the needs of a modern community

There are two phases to the project -

Phase 1

All Saints has always had a tradition of musical excellence and for over 100 years our organ has played a central part in our music. Unfortunately all those years of regular use have taken their toll on our organ and it is now in urgent need of cleaning and restoration.
The restoration work will include:
 

• The re-leathering of motors, reservoirs, membranes
  and the great drawstop engine.
• Cleaning and restoration of the console including new bushings,
  new contact blocks and a new capture system.
• A thorough cleaning of the great organ pipework
  and the treatment of some parts
  with graphite. 793 organ pipes need cleaning
  and restoring at a cost of £10 per pipe.

Phase 2

Phase 2 of the Evolving All Saints project will focus on upgrading the facilities in our Church building to meet the needs of a 21st century community.

This will involve:
 

• The provision of toilet facilities for the disabled.
• The installation of a ramp for improved wheelchair access to the Parlour
• The creation of a new kitchenette in the North Aisle of the church so that
  refreshments can be easily prepared and served for services and functions
• The replacement of rotten timber flooring in the North Aisle with stone flooring

What will it all cost?

Phase 1

The cost of the organ restoration will be £38,000.

The Friends of All Saints Church have kindly agreed to donate £30,000 towards the cost of the work on our organ leaving us with £8,000 to raise so that the project can be completed.

Phase 2

We expect the upgrading of facilities at All Saints to cost somewhere between £150,000 and £200,000.

The Friends of All Saints Church have kindly agreed to fund 60% of the cost of this work and we hope to raise 30% of the cost through grants. This leaves us with a fundraising target for Phase 2 of between £15,000 and £20,000.
